Mr. Dodd currently serves as the Chief Performance Officer for the City of Santa Monica. Originally from the Boston area, he previously served as the Performance Manager for the City of Baltimore and Director of Performance Management for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He has been active in nonprofit work for several years and currently serves on the Associate Board of the Shelter Partnership and is a tutor with the School on Wheels program. Mr. Dodd holds a B. A. in Political Science from American University, a M. A. in History from Providence College, and a Doctorate in Law and Policy from Northeastern University. He joined the Board of Directors in March 2019.
Ms. Bellairs is a consultant for small businesses and non-profits. She comes to the organization with extensive Human Resources, organization development, and systems development experience from both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. She has an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Florida, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California, and a Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute. Ms. Bellairs joined the Board of Directors in November of 2017.
Ms. Cisch is a fundraising consultant for a variety of nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, Long Beach and other parts of the South Bay Area. For many years, she was the Director of Development for several community health clinics in the Los Angeles area as well as a few social service agencies. Ms. Cisch is very familiar with nonprofit organizations and social services. She has a strong fundraising background and initially came to the organization as a consultant in August 2018.
Mrs. Sadwick Shaddix has a background in education policy research and digital marketing. She is also a Forbes Technology contributor, writing about the societal impacts of advancements within the tech sector, including diversity and inclusion, human trafficking, and promising educational opportunities through tech innovations. Mrs. Sadwick Shaddix holds a B. A. in Political Science from UCLA, where she graduated summa cum laude with minors in Education and Public Affairs. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she is passionate about promoting child welfare, mental health, and equitable public education opportunities. Mrs. Sadwick Shaddix joined the Board of Directors in March 2019.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Ms. Brown has a background in music, entertainment, and theater production. Formally, a recording artist on the Capitol records label, she is an Emmy-nominated producer, an ASCAP award-winning songwriter, and an author. Ms. Brown has achieved gold and platinum record status for songs she has written for various artists and is a "Song of the Year" Stellar Award nominee. She is passionate about causes for children and has been performing songs from her new children's CD, "We're All Only Children," along with the song, "It's Time to Get Together" featured on First 5 CA's Pandora music playlist. Ms. Brown is approaching four years on the Board of Directors and champions all that the organization provides for children and families.
Rebecca Sadwick Shaddix
Ms. Lu has a background in Finance and Accounting and a strong belief in the mission of this organization and its people. She worked as an Auditor at a Big 4 Accounting Firm before becoming a consultant for big companies, specializing in mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Lu has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California. She joined the Board of Directors in November 2018.
